Where was Firoz Khan Born
Firoz Khan was born on 25 September 1939 in Bengaluru. His real name is Zulfikar Ali Shah Khan Tanoli. His father Sadiq Ali Khan Tanoli was originally from Ghazni, Afghanistan, while his mother Fatima was an Iranian. He has four brothers Sanjay Khan (Shah Abbas Khan), Shahrukh Shah Ali Khan, Sameer Khan and Akbar Khan. Khursheed Shehenwar And Dilshad Begum Sheikh are his two sisters.
Firoz Khan Education
Firoz Khan completed his education from Bishop Cotton Boys School and St. Germain High School in Bengaluru. He spent his entire childhood in Karnataka. After completing his schooling, he started dreaming of becoming an actor. After completing school, Firoz Khan came to Mumbai and started his career in acting. His role in his first film was small, but despite this Firoz Khan never gave up.
Firoz Khan Married a Divorcee Mother
Talking about Firoz Khan’s personal life, he married Sundari Khan in 1965. Both of them met during a party. Sundari was a divorcee, she already had a daughter. Both of them got married after a long affair. Firoz and Sundari have two children, Fardeen Khan and Laila Khan.
Fardeen Khan, like his father, pursued a career in movies. However, he did not have the same level of success as his father. But after acting in some films, Fardeen Khan disappeared from the industry. Fardeen is now enjoying a life away from the spotlight. However, he maintains contact with his admirers via social media. Feroz Khan’s daughter Laila Khan avoided the limelight of Bollywood in her life.
Only a few years had gone after Firoz’s marriage with Sundari, when he met Jyotika Dhanrajgir, an air hostess. Firoz fell in love with Jyotika as soon as he saw her. Firoz’s wife Sundari was informed about this affair. When she got this news, she expressed his displeasure. In such a situation, Firoz Khan left his wife and children. After this Feroz started living in a live-in relationship with Jyotika.
Jyotika & Feroz broke after 10 years
Firoz Khan and Jyotika Stayed in live-in for about 10 years. Jyotika repeatedly talked about marriage with Firoz, but every time he avoided her talk. Angered by this, Jyotika ended her relationship with Firoz Khan and went to London. Actually, in an interview Firoz Khan had said that he doesn’t even know Who Jyotika is.
Wife took revenge after 10 years
You will be surprised to know that after breaking up with Jyotika, Feroz Khan returned to his wife Sundari and children. However, his wife did not forgive him. Sundari had divorced Firoz because of his betrayal.
Firoz Khan Made his debut with this film
After completing his schooling, Firoz Khan came to Mumbai and made his first film in 1956, in which he had a small role. The name of this film was ‘Hum Sab Chor Hai’. After this he worked as a second lead in films like Zamana, Bade Sarkar and Didi.
During 1960 to 1970, Firoz Khan worked in many films. However, his first film as a lead actor was ‘Ghar Ki Laaj’, in which he played the lead role opposite Nirupa Roy.
After this, he worked in the film ‘Tarzan Goes to India’ opposite Simi Grewal in 1962. After this, he worked in Phani Majumdar’s film “Unche Log” in 1965, which proved to be the first hit film of his career.
He acted in 60 Films
Firoz Khan worked in about 60 films in his entire career, including Mr. India, Private Detective, Reporter Raju, Main Shaadi Karne Chala, Bahurani, Samson, Char Darvesh, Arzoo, Teesra Kaun, Raat Aur Din, Aurat, CID 9.0. 9, Aaja Sanam, Anjaam and “Anjaan Hai Koi”.
His acting was not only appreciated as an actor, but he was also liked a lot as a villain in ‘Welcome’ and many other films. Firoz Khan’s last film was ‘Welcome’.
He was also successful as a Director and Producer
Firoz Khan was not only a seasoned actor, but he was also a very brilliant director. He started his career as a director with the film ‘Aparadh’ released in 1972. This film was a hit at the box office. After this, he did not direct any film, but he produced films like Dharmatma, Qurbani, Jaanbaz, Vinod Khanna’s ‘Dayawan’ and Yalgaar. Let us tell you that Firoz Khan’s friendship with Vinod Khanna was very good.
He produced the film ‘Janasheen’ in 2003, which was his last film as a producer. He launched his son Fardeen Khan in Bollywood with the film ‘Prem Agan’ released in 1998.
Firoz Khan was honored with these awards
Firoz Khan was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor Role for his film ‘Aadmi Aur Insaan’. Apart from this, he won the Filmfare Award in the role of supporting actor for the films ‘Safar’ and ‘International Crook’. In 2001, he was honored with the Filmfare Lifetime Award. Apart from this, he was also honored with prestigious awards like IIFA Award, Zee Award and Stardust.
The film ‘Qurbani’ released in 1980 was one of the most successful films of his career. Along with this, he had also established his career in the world of direction. In the last phase of his career, he played the role of villain in many films. He was last seen in Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Welcome’ released in 2007. In this film, he won a lot of applause from the audience with the character of underworld don RDX.
At the age of 69, he left this world on April 27, 2009 while battling cancer.
